Sunday Devotions - ...as white as snow.

(today's post is borrowed from Bible Devotions for Bedtime

His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And his eyes were bright like flames of fire. Revelation 1:14

No one today really knows what Jesus looked like. But one old man described him in the Bible. John, who lived on a little island called Patmos about sixty-five years after Jesus died had a vision of the Lord. He was the resurrected Jesus.

John was praying on a Sunday when he heard a voice bhind him - it turned out to be Jesus Christ. Joh wrote that Jesus was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across His chest. His hair was woolly, as white as snow. His eyes flashed like fire. His feet were like pure, shining bronze. His voice thundered like ocean waves that break on the shore. Seven stars were in His right hand, and a sharp sword came out of His mouth. His face was as bright as the sun on a perfectly clear day.

When John saw Jesus, he fainted. But Jesus said, "Don't be afraid! I am the first, the last, and the living one. I was dead, and look, I'm alive forever and ever!"

Think of that! Jesus is alive right now. He is holding and loving us like those seven bright stars in His hand.

Dear God, Thank You for being our wonderful and living Lord! Amen!

  2. Haha, I was thinking the same thing as the previous commenter. Thinking I need a like button. Great post. Too bad we have no snow this year.
